Pa Rum Pa Pum Pum Balls

December 04 , 2016 by Amber Trudeau - in Candy

FYI – the next month’s worth of posts will be Christmas related so rev your engines and hold onto your….reindeer…or…whatever. I’m also warning you in advance that these Christmas puns are particularly terrible and not in a good way, so I’m sorry for that in advance 🙂 Now, on with the post! Can you believe […]

…but not for long because then he ate it 😉 . In case you haven’t managed to guess by the title, this post is somewhat Elvis based. I will freely admit that these delicious bites required a couple of incarnations both with their own merits, so I’ll give you both possibilities below since they’re both […]

So I bet you’re thinking that you didn’t read that title correctly, am I right? Or else you’re thinking “but Amber, I thought this was a baking blog? What up with the dinner/ lunch item (or cold for breakfast. Mmmmmmm……) that is the Margherita pizza?” Well worry not fair reader. you are neither going crazy […]

Candy is not often my thing. Well…that’s a bit of lie. I’m totally fine with candy. It’s sugary, it’s delicious, but for some reason, it’s pretty rare for it to not turn into a big huge mess that either just tastes so-so, or needs to be dumped entirely. Or even worse, needs to be soaked […]

Recycling? Me? 😉 Trust me though, this is the kind of recycling even the most notorious climate change denier can get behind. Remember last week when we made those peanut butter sandwich cookies with the chocolate hazelnut spread? Yeah, they were gone so fast that they’re barely a twinkle in my eye still either. Fear […]

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that the photo does not make this look like the most appetizing thing in the world. For presentation here, I most definitely get a score of negative a million (or thereabouts). But rest assured dear reader, it tastes much, much better than it seems when first meets the […]

These really are heroes in a half shell (well a full shell, which is mostly because the minute any teenagers, mutant or otherwise, get their hands on these balls of deliciousness, they will choose to hoard them all and keep them safely ensconced far from prying eyes so that they may consume all of them themselves. […]

Mmmmm….savoury truffles. Actually I had no idea whether or not this would be a good idea, but I’ve had it on my list of things/ combinations that I’ve been wanting to give a go for quite some time, and recently decided that the time is now. Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today […]

I feel guilty for this weeks pun I must admit. It’s totally just a well known and completely stolen joke. However it was so fitting I felt I had no choice. Although I suppose one could make the argument that that’s like a thief saying “That bank was just right there, it’s like they were asking […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
