Let me just get right to it this week, because I can’t even begin to describe how in love with this brittle I am. In one of my many hours of online recipe stalking, I stumbled across a bunch of different sites that had recipes for quinoa brittle (the photos actually all look disturbingly like […]

Ok, that pun’s a bit of a stretch, but what can you do? Nothing, that’s what. The other possibilities were really all so, so much worse. For example: It’s A Rice Day For A White Wedding (shudder, so, so bad, and it doesn’t even incorporate the mint element) It May Be A Cin(namint), But I’m […]

Themes, love ’em or hate ’em, they’re here to stay (because I love ’em and since I’m in control here, you’ll just have to go with the flow on this one šŸ˜‰ ). One thing I’ve kept meaning to get back to because I love how much it allows me to let my creativity flag […]

Last weekend, Kevin and I hosted a little St. Patrick’s day shindig, and I of course wanted to bake something. I also really wanted that something to be at least somewhat thematic. Another consideration? I finally ordered myself some vegan white chocolate chips. Now, I wish that this was something I could just pick up […]

When I stumbled across a recipe for what was labelled “Ginger Crunch” cookies/ slices, I was immediately intrigued and merrily skipped through the blog post in which it appearedĀ until I got to the recipe and was eagerly looking for the “crunch” element. I was incredibly disappointed. It was basically just a shortbread cookie topped with […]

As promised from weeks ago, my completely no longer relevant Valentine’s Day post! Look, just get out there and invent a time machine, and we can pretend that I was all on the ball and stuff OK? Great, I’m glad you’re willing to do me a solid on this one šŸ˜‰ . These are incredibly […]

I was originally intending to do a Valentine’s post today, but it fell off my radar completely, and though I did bake something today to fit into that theme, you’re just going to have to wait a couple of weeks to see that one (upside though? It’s not something thatĀ has to be Valentine’s themed, so […]

Am I the only person who wasn’t aware of Snickerdoodle cookies until recently(ish)? It feels like every baking blog worth its salt seems to have at least one recipe for them. “Is it more of an American thing perhaps?” I thought to myself. Then, after very minimal research, I discovered that nope, that’s not really […]

Oatmeal raisin cookies. I love ’em. I can’t believe I don’t already have a post about these on this blog. Well…technically I can believe it. For some reason, they don’t seem to be other people’s favourite. Even if/ when people are willing to embrace a love for all things oatmeal cookie, they always want it […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau. Ā I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet. Ā So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new. Ā To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
