What would a month worth of ice cream flavoured cakes be without actually consuming said cake out of an actual ice cream cone? Luckily, I’m here to save the day and provide you with this option. Portable, whimsical, and deliciously bite sized (if you’re down with using mini ice cream cones anyway. Feel free to […]

It’s actually shocking and amazing to me that I’ve even made these cupcakes this week if I’m being perfectly honest with you. Let me start by saying that the Neapolitan cake from last week had me deciding that I wanted to make cakes/ cupcakes based on classic and nostalgic flavours (so I’m sorry to disappoint […]

Welcome! Welcome! We have arrived at yet another random themed month! The entire reason this month exists was because I wanted to make a 3 layer cake with all different flavours. Well… I suppose this month would still¬†exist – I mean, it’s unlikely the universe would’ve just completely skipped the month of June (which is […]

Well, if you’re me, you might also end up eating a bunch of your freely acquired and provided-by-life lemons straight up, but if you have a lot of them, then I suppose one could also work them into a pie, or a tart…or something ūüėČ . As a kid, lemon meringue pie was probably one […]

Ok, it’s been awhile (an incredibly¬†long while I know), since my first attempt at macarons. Since that time, I have made the wonderful discovery of a new, ingenious way of creating vegan meringue. The reality is, I first read/ heard about this not that long after my first macaron attempt, but for some reason, I’ve […]

….but mini cupcakes are apparently ok ūüėČ . I don’t really know what my deal is with cupcakes/ cake. It’s definitely not really my favourite dessert. However, I understand it’s portability and variability so I can see why¬†other people consider it the dessert of champions (although I’m sure that¬†actual¬†champions don’t regularly partake in dessert. Or […]

….because these babies are magic! So I guess I’m in some kind of weird nostalgic for Christmas (or at least Christmas treats!) mode. The faux peanut butter balls last week are probably what got me thinking about the other Christmas delectables that I make. This brought me to thinking about my maple cream cookies…and how […]

…a deep vat of icing that is. What would Christmas be without a delicate dusting of snow all over everything? ¬†Now outside, this may not be the greatest thing, what with its horrible associations with slush, ice, general freezing coldness and terrible traffic. There’s a good reason why winter is iconically represented by an old […]

Alright, here’s the¬†real Halloween post (not like that fake-out post from last week ūüėČ ). This week I bring you a veritable smorgasbord of super fast/easy Halloween desserts of both the healthy (booo!!!) and unhealthy (yeah!!!!) variety. So, you know, be afraid, be very afraid…or whatever. Complete side note here, but don’t you love how […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
