Aren’t these pretty? What is it about frosting things in sugar that just give them that deliciously ethereal look? As much as I hate winter, visually it can be pretty stunning. If only real snow were like this though. You know, not actually cold and deliciously sweet? The cupcake version of these really only exist […]

At least, that’s what I hear, so if you make this you’ll be totally safe to stand out in the middle of an epic thunderstorm with a bowl of deliciousness for protection. Who knew you were so versatile little grain of many colours? (is that a musical in the making or is it just me? […]

More cake! I know, I should’ve made this a layer cake themed month, I just didn’t realize I’d have so many opportunities to make full on cakes and take them places! September for the win! (too many exclamation marks in a row? Yes. Since you’re already judging me – !!!!!!!!!!!! – just had to get […]

Because this will definitely make you feel like you’re in heaven/aka on a fluffy cloud of deliciousness in the sky. I don’t know what I’m saying, but the real point here is, despite the fact that this cake technically started off as a bit of a disaster for me (a bit more on that later since […]

You guessed it – it’s another themed month! (cue the fireworks and crazy conga line dancers of joy): That’s right Simpsons – you win friends with delicious, delicious desserts (unless you’ve poisoned said desserts, at which point, you win a life sentence in jail. And since you clearly can’t be trusted with desserts, you also […]

I was originally intending to do a Valentine’s post today, but it fell off my radar completely, and though I did bake something today to fit into that theme, you’re just going to have to wait a couple of weeks to see that one (upside though? It’s not something that has to be Valentine’s themed, so […]

…or “Cran This in Your Pie Hole” 😉 Summer is almost over, there’s just no sense in kidding myself any more. As a final hurrah however, I’m bringing you some deliciously refreshing, creamy (possibly also boozy? And by possibly, I mean most definitely 😉 ) custard pops. The dream of these came fairly fully formed […]

Farewell Olympics 2016 – I will freely admit that I did not watch even one single event, but I’m sure you were great. Uh, go Canada??!!! (How did we do anyway? Good? ….ok, I just looked it up because I was super embarrassed about my complete lack of enthusiasm and/ or knowledge on the Olympic […]

I’m incredibly, incredibly excited about sharing this one. For months I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Bailey’s Almande (a vegan version of Bailey’s traditional Irish Cream! Excitement endorphins, start your engines). Since it recently became available at my local LCBO (or lick-bo as I’m typically wont to call it), I of course had to […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
