See? Didn’t I promise you no more peanut butter? (well…not no more ever, just not this week. Don’t be crazy 😉 ). I’m a super fan of citrus, so I might be a little biased here (I eat straight lemons (although maybe not? They don’t share their sexuality with me before I devour them 😉 ) […]

…No, I’m not asking about your dating type (or personal description…I don’t know how you word your online dating profile! I will freely admit to knowing absolutely nothing about online dating and what goes on there. I luckily found the yin to my yang (that sounded weirdly dirty, but you know what I’m saying) before […]

You guessed it – it’s another themed month! (cue the fireworks and crazy conga line dancers of joy): That’s right Simpsons – you win friends with delicious, delicious desserts (unless you’ve poisoned said desserts, at which point, you win a life sentence in jail. And since you clearly can’t be trusted with desserts, you also […]

Let me just get right to it this week, because I can’t even begin to describe how in love with this brittle I am. In one of my many hours of online recipe stalking, I stumbled across a bunch of different sites that had recipes for quinoa brittle (the photos actually all look disturbingly like […]

Truly terrible pun, meet blog post. Now I know you’re new here and think just any ol’ pun’ll do, but we at sweetultimatums have standards….sort of 😉 . Nah, I’m just messing with you, the more terrible the better, we embrace all bad humour. It’s only those professional, high quality joke-sters and pun-sters that we […]

I was originally intending to do a Valentine’s post today, but it fell off my radar completely, and though I did bake something today to fit into that theme, you’re just going to have to wait a couple of weeks to see that one (upside though? It’s not something that has to be Valentine’s themed, so […]

Am I the only person who wasn’t aware of Snickerdoodle cookies until recently(ish)? It feels like every baking blog worth its salt seems to have at least one recipe for them. “Is it more of an American thing perhaps?” I thought to myself. Then, after very minimal research, I discovered that nope, that’s not really […]

You can clearly see that I was kind of terrible on the dipping side of these truffles. Don’t worry, I’m sure that you’ll do a much better job than me. I was also visibly bad at cutting a truffle in half (see picture below). I was rushing and when I saw that I didn’t cut […]

Alright, technically I know that Christmas is over now, but I still had this one recipe kicking about, so be like me and just embrace the season for a little bit longer (I mean technically it’s still considered Christmas break right? Right???? Exactly). Now I’ll be one of the first to admit that these little coconutty […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
