Because I love oatmeal in all of it’s various forms (well…I’m maybe not so big a fan of instant oatmeal I’ll admit. But I mean seriously people? Was this really a product that needed to get more convenient? I mean, you can cook quick oats in the microwave in like 2 minutes, and put on […]

Because this will definitely make you feel like you’re in heaven/aka on a fluffy cloud of deliciousness in the sky. I don’t know what I’m saying, but the real point here is, despite the fact that this cake¬†technically started off as a bit of a disaster for me (a bit more on that later since […]

A pun by any other name would….well probably be better than this one, so there’s that. This week, I’m going to bring you what I’m going to call the “real estate agent” version of dessert bait and switch (except in a good way I promise! ūüôā ). Because I know what you’re thinking…”Amber, do you […]

It’s the final week! I can’t believe it, April went by so fast. So many more things I would’ve made, but I should maybe save some things so that I can possibly do this again next year since I enjoyed myself so much (hopefully I wasn’t the only one?). And if I can’t wait¬†quite that […]

When I stumbled across a recipe for what was labelled “Ginger Crunch” cookies/ slices, I was immediately intrigued and merrily skipped through the blog post in which it appeared¬†until I got to the recipe and was eagerly looking for the “crunch” element. I was incredibly disappointed. It was basically just a shortbread cookie topped with […]

This post shouldn’t even exist. The only reason for my sharing this with you is because I was test running some ginger praline that I wanted to see about incorporating into something for a well thought out¬†future post (still to come, but I’ll keep y’all in suspense for now). However, this praline turned out incredibly […]

….and here they are. Just standing in a row ūüėČ ¬†(and if you don’t get this musical tribute at all, this is where my reference comes from. Although the song was apparently written in 1944, I first heard it in the Lion King movie, so I’m now making you have my own nostalgic trip down […]

Alright, technically I know that Christmas is over now, but I still had this one recipe kicking about, so be like me and just embrace the season for a little bit longer (I mean technically it’s still considered Christmas¬†break right? Right???? Exactly). Now I’ll be one of the first to admit that these little coconutty […]

Oh Come All Ye Fudgeful

December 18 , 2016 by Amber Trudeau - in Candy

The third time really was a charm with these. I almost quit after my first two attempts (of which there is no photographic evidence as I don’t think anyone needs to¬†see my epic fails. I’m still telling you about it, but I have to draw the line somewhere ūüėČ Ok, that’s not even true really. […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
