Including showing any consistency in writing this blog. I have an actual excuse this time though for taking so long to write another post. I’ve been diagnosed with a pretty serious condition (that I just made up right now) known as slothful unindustriousness. In layman’s terms, that means I’m lazy 😉 (apparently perfectly motivated enough […]

…is surprisingly the Sangria infused madeleine cookie. Shocking I know. But you combine a little Spanish flair with a little French sophistication and you are now fully within your rights to call yourself classy and worldly. Am I right? (Don’t answer that, I’m right 😉 ). It’s funny because, although whenever I’ve had Sangria I’ve […]

This would actually be a useful skill if by “Pepper” we were referencing Iron Man’s Pepper Potts. Having a bit of pull over a super hero seems like a useful tool to have in your back pocket 😉 . With these treats, I opted to go even more “super” crazy and make them gluten free […]

See? Didn’t I promise you no more peanut butter? (well…not no more ever, just not this week. Don’t be crazy 😉 ). I’m a super fan of citrus, so I might be a little biased here (I eat straight lemons (although maybe not? They don’t share their sexuality with me before I devour them 😉 ) […]

A pun by any other name would….well probably be better than this one, so there’s that. This week, I’m going to bring you what I’m going to call the “real estate agent” version of dessert bait and switch (except in a good way I promise! 🙂 ). Because I know what you’re thinking…”Amber, do you […]

In case the title wasn’t a literal dead giveaway, this week we enter the realm of “la Belle Province”. There were so, so many options of what I  could have made to represent Québec (sugar pie, bûche de Noël – ok, that one would’ve been a weird choice given it’s summer, but still an option […]

Yeah! A reason to use the madeleines tin I bought last year! I was really into making them when I first bought it (I think in the first week I owned it, I made madeleines like four times). Then I basically forgot about it, and have now opted to allow it a resurgence so that […]

In my amazing mind reading abilities way, I can tell that you’re thinking “Amber, we’ve seen macrons before on this very blog. In fact, we’ve seen them twice! Way to repeat – I think you should rename your blog “one trick pony”” and then you make a dismissive hand gesture in my general direction. First […]

Candy is not often my thing. Well…that’s a bit of lie. I’m totally fine with candy. It’s sugary, it’s delicious, but for some reason, it’s pretty rare for it to not turn into a big huge mess that either just tastes so-so, or needs to be dumped entirely. Or even worse, needs to be soaked […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
