I think I have Ghostbusters on the brain because Kevin and I recently went to the Rec Room in downtown Toronto and did their fully immersive VR Ghostbuster experience thing (It’s a little pricey, but super cool and totally worth doing at least once. You get to shoot at the Marshmallow Man – at which […]

C’mon, don’t roll your eyes at me – you know you loved that one ūüėČ . Just because you’re jealous that you didn’t think of that pun first is no reason to go all hater-y on me and pretend you’re too good to laugh at my nonsense. Anywho, not sure if you’re sensing a theme […]

Peanut butter and banana. I¬† know it’s only been 5 seconds since I did a post about that particular flavour combination, but I liked it so much, I felt it needed to be incorporated into something else. Also, Kevin really liked the banana filling from my knock-off nutter butters from the other week and told […]

Summer!!!!!!!!!!! That is possibly my favourite word. Conjuring up images of warmth and holidays…and ice cream! You know the big problem with ice cream though? It just gets a little too melty a little too fast. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “sticky fingers” (although now maybe you could “legitimately” “accidentally” rob people¬† […]

I’m clearly on a bit of a cranberry kick here…because my new challenge is apparently how many berries can you cran into one blog? Wakka-wakka-wakka!! (or sad trombone sound depending on how cheesy you like your puns ūüėČ ). I still had some white chocolate chips kicking around, and those definitely go with cranberries as […]

Aren’t these pretty? What is it about frosting things in sugar that just give them that deliciously ethereal look? As much as I hate winter, visually it can be pretty stunning. If only real snow were like this though. You know, not actually cold and deliciously sweet? The cupcake version of these really only exist […]

So the secret’s obviously out on which “mystery” condiment we’ll be embracing today. I rub my hands together with relish and glee (after which I had to give them a right scrubbing because my hands were coated in green goo and whatever it is that “glee” is made of? It’s invisible, but surprisingly difficult to […]

…or “Short(bread) Circuit” because technically¬†these are supposed to be shortbread. However, I’m incredibly incredibly picky with what I deem shortbread, so, not sure really if it’s an appropriate title in this case, but I don’t care because honestly? In the words of Ned Flanders, they tasted rather scrum-diddly-umptious and I would totally make them again. […]

Ok, so being the big liar that I am, I’m opting to do a “real” (aka what I’d actually intended to post last week) New Year’s post. It’s a week late¬†technically, but if you¬†really think about, today is actually my first post of 2018 so it’s really my first post of the New Year, so […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
