Including showing any consistency in writing this blog. I have an actual excuse this time though for taking so long to write another post. I’ve been diagnosed with a pretty serious condition (that I just made up right now) known as slothful unindustriousness. In layman’s terms, that means I’m lazy 😉 (apparently perfectly motivated enough […]

This would actually be a useful skill if by “Pepper” we were referencing Iron Man’s Pepper Potts. Having a bit of pull over a super hero seems like a useful tool to have in your back pocket 😉 . With these treats, I opted to go even more “super” crazy and make them gluten free […]

A Boy Named Tiramisu

December 31 , 2017 by Amber Trudeau - in Bars, Candy

I mean, who wouldn’t want that for a name? Oh Johnny Cash, things could’ve been so different for your titular song character if only a “Tira-” had been added to his name. There’s a reason people always nickname their loved ones after delicious treats (Sweetie Pie, Sugar, Honey, Babe….uh…that last one might mean your loved one […]

Being the conscientious person that I am, I opted to test these babies with both peanut butter and sunflower seed butter for a nut free option. I often consider doing this, but love peanut butter so much that unless I’m taking them to a peanut allergy location, I often don’t “risk” it, worrying that I […]

Let me just get right to it this week, because I can’t even begin to describe how in love with this brittle I am. In one of my many hours of online recipe stalking, I stumbled across a bunch of different sites that had recipes for quinoa brittle (the photos actually all look disturbingly like […]

We all know that I clearly have no illusions about this being a “healthy” blog. Despite common misconceptions, just because something is vegan does not mean it’s healthy. Now can we all please pass this message on to the blogosphere and/or the internet/world in general? To be perfectly honest, I’m sure more people would come […]

So I actually made these quite a while ago, back when, if you remember, I had an insane overabundance of apples to get through. After a couple of weeks, realizing the apples in my fridge were still taking up an inordinately large percentage of some much needed chill factor real estate, I started trying to […]

Oh Come All Ye Fudgeful

December 18 , 2016 by Amber Trudeau - in Candy

The third time really was a charm with these. I almost quit after my first two attempts (of which there is no photographic evidence as I don’t think anyone needs to see my epic fails. I’m still telling you about it, but I have to draw the line somewhere 😉 Ok, that’s not even true really. […]

So a while back I had procured for myself a box of Fruit Loops and a box of Captain Crunch (accidentally vegan, huzzah!) for some baking goodness. Unfortunately, I’d opted not to use the Fruit Loops at all, and I really only needed like a half cup of the Captain Crunch. So, what to do […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
