Thanks Kevin! This title was much better than my original “Wasted Away Again in Margarita(Truffle)Ville” – that just felt awkward. Puns just shouldn’t be forced am I right? 😉 Just do what comes natural that’s what I say. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a love-hate….actually, even that’s too generous – the truth […]

When I stumbled across a recipe for what was labelled “Ginger Crunch” cookies/ slices, I was immediately intrigued and merrily skipped through the blog post in which it appeared until I got to the recipe and was eagerly looking for the “crunch” element. I was incredibly disappointed. It was basically just a shortbread cookie topped with […]

This was originally intended to be a one off post for scones. My decision making abilities being absolute nil however “forced” me to turn this into a themed month. What could I do? You see, I’ve never made scones in my life (and though I find them absolutely delicious, I’ve only even eaten them a […]

I’m incredibly, incredibly excited about sharing this one. For months I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Bailey’s Almande (a vegan version of Bailey’s traditional Irish Cream! Excitement endorphins, start your engines). Since it recently became available at my local LCBO (or lick-bo as I’m typically wont to call it), I of course had to […]

Yeah! A reason to use the madeleines tin I bought last year! I was really into making them when I first bought it (I think in the first week I owned it, I made madeleines like four times). Then I basically forgot about it, and have now opted to allow it a resurgence so that […]

I hope you’re not the kind of person who has completely despised my random themed months, because we arrive at yet another one! Aren’t you excited???!!! I can practically feel your heart racing in anticipation from here (either that or you just drank too much caffeine this morning 😉 ). Either way, I won’t keep […]

In my amazing mind reading abilities way, I can tell that you’re thinking “Amber, we’ve seen macrons before on this very blog. In fact, we’ve seen them twice! Way to repeat – I think you should rename your blog “one trick pony”” and then you make a dismissive hand gesture in my general direction. First […]

So I bet you’re thinking that you didn’t read that title correctly, am I right? Or else you’re thinking “but Amber, I thought this was a baking blog? What up with the dinner/ lunch item (or cold for breakfast. Mmmmmmm……) that is the Margherita pizza?” Well worry not fair reader. you are neither going crazy […]

It’s actually shocking and amazing to me that I’ve even made these cupcakes this week if I’m being perfectly honest with you. Let me start by saying that the Neapolitan cake from last week had me deciding that I wanted to make cakes/ cupcakes based on classic and nostalgic flavours (so I’m sorry to disappoint […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
