Because this will definitely make you feel like you’re in heaven/aka on a fluffy cloud of deliciousness in the sky. I don’t know what I’m saying, but the real point here is, despite the fact that this cake technically started off as a bit of a disaster for me (a bit more on that later since […]

Week two!! I know, you’re super excited, I can feel it from here. The air is practically palpable with your barely contained exuberance. Just breathe, we still have two more weeks after this one, so reserve at least some of your enthusiasm for future posts 😉 . I know I said last week that I […]

Have you been thinking to yourself recently “I just don’t have enough peanut butter in my life?” I mean sure, you can put it on toast, and I’m sure you’ve consumed the odd peanut butter ball, but have you found yourself in the position of thinking “Yeah, that’s enough peanut butter”? Because it never is […]

This week is hands down the best tasting of my “trompe l’oeil” desserts to date. The pound cake I used for the sandwich “bread” was amazing. I think the loaf of pound cake was actually supposed to be much larger then it ended up being. Possibly because I kept tasting the raw batter and “accidentally” […]

Week 2! I know, you were totally fooled by this one right? I mean, it’s uncanny how much this looks like Buffalo wings and celery with blue cheese dip. Right? RIGHT???!!!! (*Amber makes crazy eyes*). Whatever, I think they’re still cute, and they are actually tasty to boot (and if for some reason you misread that […]

I thought that these whoopie pies looked the most visually festive so what better cookie to post for Christmas day? I know, I can’t believe I’m still on top of this and am actually posting on Christmas day either. Go me! #humblebrag (side note (warning!! loooonnnnggg side note 😉 ), I have no idea why I […]

See? What did I tell you? These Christmas puns are terrible 🙁 Now if I wasn’t going for a Christmas theme, I easily could’ve used something like “Pinwheels Keep on Turnin’, Cranberries Keep On Burnin’ ” , or possibly “Pinwheels of Fortune”. Instead though, we’re stuck with this. Look, we’re all suffering here, but let’s just […]

So I have about a million apples in my fridge, so apple cinnamon scones definitely seemed like a way to go. To amp these up a little though, I added a whole whack of your traditional chai spice spices as well and thus we have some delectable Glazed Apple Chai Scones. Oh the memories. Anywho, […]

Farewell Olympics 2016 – I will freely admit that I did not watch even one single event, but I’m sure you were great. Uh, go Canada??!!! (How did we do anyway? Good? ….ok, I just looked it up because I was super embarrassed about my complete lack of enthusiasm and/ or knowledge on the Olympic […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
