…a deep vat of icing that is. What would Christmas be without a delicate dusting of snow all over everything?  Now outside, this may not be the greatest thing, what with its horrible associations with slush, ice, general freezing coldness and terrible traffic. There’s a good reason why winter is iconically represented by an old […]

I don’t like to go down without a fight, so this week I bring you Christmas fudge, take two! I know they say it’s the third time that’s a charm, but the second time will have to do in this particular case because I don’t think I have it in me to make fudge three […]

So, first completely new Christmas thing for this year! (Fire and Ice Patties notwithstanding because they were really just an extension of something I always make). I was extremely excited about this, mostly because, unlike my usual system, I did absolutely no research into these. I said to myself “self” (because isn’t that how everyone […]

Alright, here’s the real Halloween post (not like that fake-out post from last week 😉 ). This week I bring you a veritable smorgasbord of super fast/easy Halloween desserts of both the healthy (booo!!!) and unhealthy (yeah!!!!) variety. So, you know, be afraid, be very afraid…or whatever. Complete side note here, but don’t you love how […]

It’s that time of year again! Aren’t you excited? Sleigh bells ringing, snow falling, sugarplums (what the heck are sugar plums anyway, and why all the dancing?), peace and goodwill toward all etc. etc. (You thought I was going to say it’s Halloween time didn’t you? For the rest of the world it is, but […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
