No, not Ritz crackers (although I suppose crackers could be used with the sweet dip that I made to go along with these cookies). Think of “Ritz” in this situation as more referencing highfalutin and fancy (what? You don’t think that mini chocolate chip pudding cookies served with sprinkle laden unicorn dip isn’t fancy? That they wouldn’t […]

I think I have Ghostbusters on the brain because Kevin and I recently went to the Rec Room in downtown Toronto and did their fully immersive VR Ghostbuster experience thing (It’s a little pricey, but super cool and totally worth doing at least once. You get to shoot at the Marshmallow Man – at which […]

C’mon, don’t roll your eyes at me – you know you loved that one 😉 . Just because you’re jealous that you didn’t think of that pun first is no reason to go all hater-y on me and pretend you’re too good to laugh at my nonsense. Anywho, not sure if you’re sensing a theme […]

Peanut butter and banana. I  know it’s only been 5 seconds since I did a post about that particular flavour combination, but I liked it so much, I felt it needed to be incorporated into something else. Also, Kevin really liked the banana filling from my knock-off nutter butters from the other week and told […]

Clearly I’ve just given up with trying to come up with puns for anything peanut butter related. That title is just sad. Sad like a little kid who just dropped their entire ice cream cone before they even got to take one bite. Or sad like the fact that I don’t have a Goldendoodle as […]

Summer!!!!!!!!!!! That is possibly my favourite word. Conjuring up images of warmth and holidays…and ice cream! You know the big problem with ice cream though? It just gets a little too melty a little too fast. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “sticky fingers” (although now maybe you could “legitimately” “accidentally” rob people  […]

Personally, I’m a big fan of incorporating savoury herbs into dessert (strawberry-basil, lemon-thyme, apple and sage, so many possibilities! I even had a whole themed month about it, so if you’re interested, check out one (or all!) of these posts – rosemary, basil, dill (surprisingly my favourite tasting of the 4) or oregano). In trying […]

Let’s start our day with a jolt of adrenaline shall we? If these are filled with sugar, straight up (homemade) chocolate covered coffee beans and protein-packed hazelnuts and pistachios, I think it’s totally fair to call these energy bars. Right? RIGHT???!!! (Is it just me, or does it seem like there’s an earthquake happening right now? […]

I’m clearly on a bit of a cranberry kick here…because my new challenge is apparently how many berries can you cran into one blog? Wakka-wakka-wakka!! (or sad trombone sound depending on how cheesy you like your puns 😉 ). I still had some white chocolate chips kicking around, and those definitely go with cranberries as […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
