Chocolate chip cookies. They’re a classic. A tried and true crowd pleaser that seemingly everyone can agree on. Delicious, chocolaty, chewy and….boring. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m as big a fan of this staple as the next guy or gal, but that’s the problem with them isn’t it? Do you really want to […]

I am super in love with these. I know you probably have just stopped believing me on that front by now because I say it so often it’s lost all meaning. However, I don’t understand what’s not to like here. This week I’m actually incorporating two different condiments. Double the chance for disaster? Of course. But, despite […]

I know you’re probably tired of seeing peanut butter posts from me, but you’re going to have to learn to live with it, because if you’ve learned anything yet from this blog, it’s that I love that crazy nut (it’s very a-peanut-ling 😉 Ugh, that was terrible, even for me), so if you hate it, […]

Remember the Fresh Prince of Bel Air? I still know all the words to the theme song. Some might be embarrassed about that, but I wear it like a badge of pride. Remember the episode where they changed to a new Aunt Viv? I loved that they actually addressed the fact that she was new: […]

Alternatively I had thought about making the title for this post (said as if you were about to sneeze) “Ca-shew! Ca-shew! Ca-shEEEEWWWWWWW!!!”. However, this would’ve been a reference to a certain family member who totally sneezes like this (although making the more traditional “Achoo” sound. They might be nuts, but they’re not that nuts 😉 […]

Because this will definitely make you feel like you’re in heaven/aka on a fluffy cloud of deliciousness in the sky. I don’t know what I’m saying, but the real point here is, despite the fact that this cake technically started off as a bit of a disaster for me (a bit more on that later since […]

In case the title wasn’t a literal dead giveaway, this week we enter the realm of “la Belle Province”. There were so, so many options of what I  could have made to represent Québec (sugar pie, bûche de Noël – ok, that one would’ve been a weird choice given it’s summer, but still an option […]

Birthdays!!! Mother’s Day!!! So many things to celebrate all at once. And though this may seem like a repeat from my post of the peanut butter ball mini cake from a couple of weeks ago, what better way to celebrate then overdosing on peanutty-goodness? It was Kevin’s birthday recently, and this year it was decided that […]

Let me just get right to it this week, because I can’t even begin to describe how in love with this brittle I am. In one of my many hours of online recipe stalking, I stumbled across a bunch of different sites that had recipes for quinoa brittle (the photos actually all look disturbingly like […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
