Ok, that pun’s a bit of a stretch, but what can you do? Nothing, that’s what. The other possibilities were really all so, so much worse. For example: It’s A Rice Day For A White Wedding (shudder, so, so bad, and it doesn’t even incorporate the mint element) It May Be A Cin(namint), But I’m […]

It’s the final week! I can’t believe it, April went by so fast. So many more things I would’ve made, but I should maybe save some things so that I can possibly do this again next year since I enjoyed myself so much (hopefully I wasn’t the only one?). And if I can’t wait quite that […]

Week 2! I know, you were totally fooled by this one right? I mean, it’s uncanny how much this looks like Buffalo wings and celery with blue cheese dip. Right? RIGHT???!!!! (*Amber makes crazy eyes*). Whatever, I think they’re still cute, and they are actually tasty to boot (and if for some reason you misread that […]

Themes, love ’em or hate ’em, they’re here to stay (because I love ’em and since I’m in control here, you’ll just have to go with the flow on this one 😉 ). One thing I’ve kept meaning to get back to because I love how much it allows me to let my creativity flag […]

When I stumbled across a recipe for what was labelled “Ginger Crunch” cookies/ slices, I was immediately intrigued and merrily skipped through the blog post in which it appeared until I got to the recipe and was eagerly looking for the “crunch” element. I was incredibly disappointed. It was basically just a shortbread cookie topped with […]

This post shouldn’t even exist. The only reason for my sharing this with you is because I was test running some ginger praline that I wanted to see about incorporating into something for a well thought out future post (still to come, but I’ll keep y’all in suspense for now). However, this praline turned out incredibly […]

I’ve been having this weird hankering the past couple of months for Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Now I realize that for most people, they would simply go out and purchase their hearts desire, possibly consume it all in one sitting and then move on with their lives. In case you haven’t learned yet though, I’m […]

I feel guilty for this weeks pun I must admit. It’s totally just a well known and completely stolen joke. However it was so fitting I felt I had no choice. Although I suppose one could make the argument that that’s like a thief saying “That bank was just right there, it’s like they were asking […]

I’ll just lay it out there for you straight up – I love oatmeal. I don’t think I’ve had a week (and even very few days if I’m being honest) in which oatmeal was not included as part of my breakfast since….I don’t know, probably since I discovered that the dreaded instant oatmeal packets (of which […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
