…or “Cran This in Your Pie Hole” šŸ˜‰ Summer is almost over, there’s just no sense in kidding myself any more. As a final hurrah however, I’m bringing you some deliciously refreshing, creamy (possibly also boozy? And by possibly, I mean most definitely šŸ˜‰ ) custard pops. The dream of these came fairly fully formed […]

Well, if you’re me, you might also end up eating a bunch of your freely acquired and provided-by-life lemons straight up, but if you have a lot of them, then I suppose one could also work them into a pie, or a tart…or something šŸ˜‰ . As a kid, lemon meringue pie was probably one […]

Ok, it’s been awhile (an incrediblyĀ long while I know), since my first attempt at macarons. Since that time, I have made the wonderful discovery of a new, ingenious way of creating vegan meringue. The reality is, I first read/ heard about this not that long after my first macaron attempt, but for some reason, I’ve […]

I would like to officially invite you all to Dessert Mashup Month! (or, in case you only know it by it’s other more “traditional” name,…May šŸ˜‰ ). What is Dessert Mashup Month you ask? Well in case my photographic (in)abilities haven’t given you a hint, it’s where we over here at Sweet UltimatumsĀ combine two, two, […]

A couple of weeks ago I received another challenge request to make macarons. To which I responded out loud to an empty room “Hell yeah!” (well…one of my cats was sitting/sleeping in the room, and though I may have startled her slightly with my exuberance, I also think I detected a gleam of excitement in […]

….Based on this photo, I apparently can’t šŸ™ I thought about not posting this one at all because they didn’t turn out quite the way I had envisioned them, but in the interest of full disclosure, I’ve decided I should post the not-as-successful attempts as well. About a week ago, I received my firstĀ submitted-through-the-website challenge […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau. Ā I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet. Ā So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new. Ā To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
