This post has been languishing here completely unposted for like a year and a half. Seeing it now though, I’m definitely having a hankering for Florentines. Rum soaked fruit? Nuts? Coconut, Caramelized goodness? Chocolate in all the ways? Yes please. Luckily I was smart enough to have written out the recipe before apparently running away […]

I can’t even tell you how long ago I even made these cupcakes (I believe it was possibly as long ago as 2019 since I obviously haven’t posted here in a million, billion years), but they were memorable . Deliciously, deliciously memorable. So much so, that I clearly had no time to actually write about […]

Baklava brownies!!!! For those times when you can’t decide if you want crispy and nutty or rich and fudgy. Now you could just eat both things, or stack them one on top of each other after purchasing from various bakery locations. Or, if you’re some kind of crazy billionaire and also want to be super over-the-top, […]

Including showing any consistency in writing this blog. I have an actual excuse this time though for taking so long to write another post. I’ve been diagnosed with a pretty serious condition (that I just made up right now) known as slothful unindustriousness. In layman’s terms, that means I’m lazy 😉 (apparently perfectly motivated enough […]

What is a poke cake you ask? No, what you are thinking is 100% untrue, it is not in fact a cake created by children who simply stick their fingers into it. What kind of backroom chop shop do you think I’m running over here? Not that that would stop me from eating it of […]

..anyone else a lover of Judy Bloom? I’m sure she’d punch me square in the face for sacrilegiously using her book title in this clearly not-intended-for-childhood-audiences way, but…what are you gonna do about it Judy? Huh???!!! Yeah, that’s what I thought (ummm…please don’t sue me, I’ll provide you with free Margarita cookie samples! That should […]

…is surprisingly the Sangria infused madeleine cookie. Shocking I know. But you combine a little Spanish flair with a little French sophistication and you are now fully within your rights to call yourself classy and worldly. Am I right? (Don’t answer that, I’m right 😉 ). It’s funny because, although whenever I’ve had Sangria I’ve […]

…is actually in my thumbprint. Thumbprint cookies that is 😉 . But not just any boring ol’ thumbprint cookies of course. These little diamonds in the rough are virtual poster children for summer beach relaxing time (which I could really go for right now. I miss you summer. RIP 🙁 ). One bite of these […]

Or alternatively, “See My Zest? See My Zest? See My Zest?” Because who doesn’t love this Simpsons song? (I just couldn’t let that slide…although now that song is totally stuck in my head so possibly not worth it? No, that’s a lie, I always find that song awesome 😉 ). Technically though, I think this […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
