So, first completely new Christmas thing for this year! (Fire and Ice Patties notwithstanding because they were really just an extension of something I always make). I was extremely excited about this, mostly because, unlike my usual system, I did absolutely no research into these. I said to myself “self” (because isn’t that how everyone […]

I apologize if you were shocked/appalled/outraged at this headline, but it was way too awesome for me not to use (although I’m obviously biased ūüėČ ). I suppose I should’ve tried to be a bit more equal opportunity/ gender equality about it though, I shouldn’t just¬†assume that my dessert was female. Here’s my manly version […]

Finally, an opportunity to use that phrase without the imminent embarrassment of sounding like I’m somebody’s mom trying to sound cool and/or young and hip. Although a) I’m about 20 years too late for “What’s the Dilly Yo?” to be used by anybody even 5 seconds younger than I am and b) Who am I […]

Week two of international month brings us to what I can now with all authority say is a delicious African dessert. There are apparently many different versions/ways of making Kashata¬†which, in my opinion, makes it a little easier to play around with and turn it into¬†whatever strikes your fancy. Essentially it’s an African coconut and/or […]

Ah Fudge! Why do you taunt me so? You’re 100% sugar + other not so great for me things (it’s allowed to add up to more than 100% because fudge is more than 100% delicious. I don’t make the rules, I just follow ’em…sometimes ūüėČ ). I don’t know about you, but fudge is just […]

I warned you didn’t I? As promised, here is my homage to St.Raphael (aka the real St¬†Valentine). Ok, I’ll be honest and call it what it really is, a need to use up the way too many dried cherries and shredded coconut that I have kicking around the house. But shhhh….it’ll be our little secret […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
