I can’t even tell you how long ago I even made these cupcakes (I believe it was possibly as long ago as 2019 since I obviously haven’t posted here in a million, billion years), but they were memorable . Deliciously, deliciously memorable. So much so, that I clearly had no time to actually write about […]

Yes I know, it’s been forever (I’m sure I’m the only one who’s noticed and that you’re now thinking to yourself “Has it? Hmmm…I suppose now that I think about it, there has been a bit less nonsense than usual in my life”). Basically, I’ve just given up on this once a week thing that I did […]

So, obviously a little late to the party here, but the end of Game of Thrones! How’re you’ll feeling about that? Sad to the extreme?: Tired of hearing everyone always talking about it, so secretly thrilled to pieces that people might finally stop shaming you for not watching it, but don’t want anyone to actually […]

What is a poke cake you ask? No, what you are thinking is 100% untrue, it is not in fact a cake created by children who simply stick their fingers into it. What kind of backroom chop shop do you think I’m running over here? Not that that would stop me from eating it of […]

…is surprisingly the Sangria infused madeleine cookie. Shocking I know. But you combine a little Spanish flair with a little French sophistication and you are now fully within your rights to call yourself classy and worldly. Am I right? (Don’t answer that, I’m right 😉 ). It’s funny because, although whenever I’ve had Sangria I’ve […]

Peanut butter and banana. I  know it’s only been 5 seconds since I did a post about that particular flavour combination, but I liked it so much, I felt it needed to be incorporated into something else. Also, Kevin really liked the banana filling from my knock-off nutter butters from the other week and told […]

Summer!!!!!!!!!!! That is possibly my favourite word. Conjuring up images of warmth and holidays…and ice cream! You know the big problem with ice cream though? It just gets a little too melty a little too fast. Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “sticky fingers” (although now maybe you could “legitimately” “accidentally” rob people  […]

Personally, I’m a big fan of incorporating savoury herbs into dessert (strawberry-basil, lemon-thyme, apple and sage, so many possibilities! I even had a whole themed month about it, so if you’re interested, check out one (or all!) of these posts – rosemary, basil, dill (surprisingly my favourite tasting of the 4) or oregano). In trying […]

Aren’t these pretty? What is it about frosting things in sugar that just give them that deliciously ethereal look? As much as I hate winter, visually it can be pretty stunning. If only real snow were like this though. You know, not actually cold and deliciously sweet? The cupcake version of these really only exist […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
