We’ve made it! It’s the final week for game of scones 😉 . For this final huzzah, I’m bringing you the second savoury scone. Please don’t get angry with me for this. There will be peanut butter, and crusty scones, and spiciness (you know, to spice up your life à la Spice Girls. Oh the […]

This was originally intended to be a one off post for scones. My decision making abilities being absolute nil however “forced” me to turn this into a themed month. What could I do? You see, I’ve never made scones in my life (and though I find them absolutely delicious, I’ve only even eaten them a […]

…but not for long because then he ate it 😉 . In case you haven’t managed to guess by the title, this post is somewhat Elvis based. I will freely admit that these delicious bites required a couple of incarnations both with their own merits, so I’ll give you both possibilities below since they’re both […]

So I bet you’re thinking that you didn’t read that title correctly, am I right? Or else you’re thinking “but Amber, I thought this was a baking blog? What up with the dinner/ lunch item (or cold for breakfast. Mmmmmmm……) that is the Margherita pizza?” Well worry not fair reader. you are neither going crazy […]

I’ve been having this weird hankering the past couple of months for Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Now I realize that for most people, they would simply go out and purchase their hearts desire, possibly consume it all in one sitting and then move on with their lives. In case you haven’t learned yet though, I’m […]

When I first stumbled upon a cookie recipe incorporating tahini, I thought to myself “whoa dude, isn’t that like, the stuff that I love to slather on falafel pitas and other such savoury delicacies?” (apparently I also decided to embrace my inner surfer while contemplating my usage of tahini. Because, you know, surfer’s are extremely […]

For presentation here, I most definitely get a score of negative a million (or thereabouts). But rest assured dear reader, it tastes much, much better than it seems when first meets the […]

Mmmmm….savoury truffles. Actually I had no idea whether or not this would be a good idea, but I’ve had it on my list of things/ combinations that I’ve been wanting to give a go for quite some time, and recently decided that the time is now. Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today […]

So my oldest brother was having a big birthday recently. The big 4-0 (sorry Lincoln, your age has now been outed on the internet for all the world to see. I humbly apologize for completely ruining your attempts at joining “The club for super awesome cool people under the age of 40. Those that are […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
