…or “Cran This in Your Pie Hole” 😉 Summer is almost over, there’s just no sense in kidding myself any more. As a final hurrah however, I’m bringing you some deliciously refreshing, creamy (possibly also boozy? And by possibly, I mean most definitely 😉 ) custard pops. The dream of these came fairly fully formed […]

I’m incredibly, incredibly excited about sharing this one. For months I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Bailey’s Almande (a vegan version of Bailey’s traditional Irish Cream! Excitement endorphins, start your engines). Since it recently became available at my local LCBO (or lick-bo as I’m typically wont to call it), I of course had to […]

In my amazing mind reading abilities way, I can tell that you’re thinking “Amber, we’ve seen macrons before on this very blog. In fact, we’ve seen them twice! Way to repeat – I think you should rename your blog “one trick pony”” and then you make a dismissive hand gesture in my general direction. First […]

We Canadians may be known for our politeness and overly apologetic natures, but all of that’s about to change (err…sorry 😉 ) with these cookies. I’d happily knock over my own grandmother (à la George Costanza) for one of these morsels of creamy strawberry maple-y goodness. I mean, I’m a bit biased in that I […]

I’ve been having this weird hankering the past couple of months for Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Now I realize that for most people, they would simply go out and purchase their hearts desire, possibly consume it all in one sitting and then move on with their lives. In case you haven’t learned yet though, I’m […]

Recycling? Me? 😉 Trust me though, this is the kind of recycling even the most notorious climate change denier can get behind. Remember last week when we made those peanut butter sandwich cookies with the chocolate hazelnut spread? Yeah, they were gone so fast that they’re barely a twinkle in my eye still either. Fear […]

Well, if you’re me, you might also end up eating a bunch of your freely acquired and provided-by-life lemons straight up, but if you have a lot of them, then I suppose one could also work them into a pie, or a tart…or something 😉 . As a kid, lemon meringue pie was probably one […]

I know, I know, you’re thinking “didn’t you just do some kind of oatmeal bar thing? Way to be original Amber. I thought I knew you, for shame. Tsk, tsk, tsk.” (And now you’re thinking “How is she such a magical, mystical mind reader??!! I better only think good thoughts about Amber, otherwise she might […]

There was no way that I wanted to have this post be about cookies. We’re obviously all looking for a slight change of pace this week after a full month of those deliciously chocolate studded, sugar filled circles of addiction (ummm…does it show that cookies are actually my kyptonite, so I’m totally not sick of them? I figured […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
