So a while back I had procured for myself a box of Fruit Loops and a box of Captain Crunch (accidentally vegan, huzzah!) for some baking goodness. Unfortunately, I’d opted not to use the Fruit Loops at all, and I really only needed like a half cup of the Captain Crunch. So, what to do […]

Mmmm…bite sized brownies. Is there anything more portably delicious? Well…yes, quite a lot of things actually, but who has time to list all of them? Let’s stick to the topic at hand here shall we since I’m obviously talking about brownies today. Two bite brownies have got to be one of the simplest things to […]

…but not for long because then he ate it 😉 . In case you haven’t managed to guess by the title, this post is somewhat Elvis based. I will freely admit that these delicious bites required a couple of incarnations both with their own merits, so I’ll give you both possibilities below since they’re both […]

Farewell Olympics 2016 – I will freely admit that I did not watch even one single event, but I’m sure you were great. Uh, go Canada??!!! (How did we do anyway? Good? ….ok, I just looked it up because I was super embarrassed about my complete lack of enthusiasm and/ or knowledge on the Olympic […]

Yeah! A reason to use the madeleines tin I bought last year! I was really into making them when I first bought it (I think in the first week I owned it, I made madeleines like four times). Then I basically forgot about it, and have now opted to allow it a resurgence so that […]

I know, I know, you didn’t come here to get “health-ified” (and if you did, I strongly apologize as you have been, in general, grievously misled). Sometimes though, we all like something that’s desserty, but not overly sweet. Am I right? Or is that just me? There’s very little sugaryness in these. In fact virtually all […]

What would a month worth of ice cream flavoured cakes be without actually consuming said cake out of an actual ice cream cone? Luckily, I’m here to save the day and provide you with this option. Portable, whimsical, and deliciously bite sized (if you’re down with using mini ice cream cones anyway. Feel free to […]

Welcome! Welcome! We have arrived at yet another random themed month! The entire reason this month exists was because I wanted to make a 3 layer cake with all different flavours. Well… I suppose this month would still exist – I mean, it’s unlikely the universe would’ve just completely skipped the month of June (which is […]

When I first stumbled upon a cookie recipe incorporating tahini, I thought to myself “whoa dude, isn’t that like, the stuff that I love to slather on falafel pitas and other such savoury delicacies?” (apparently I also decided to embrace my inner surfer while contemplating my usage of tahini. Because, you know, surfer’s are extremely […]

About Amber

Amber Profile

Hi, I'm Amber Trudeau.  I bake.... a lot.

I'm also vegan, and found that whenever I went out to a restaurant my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, sorbet, and sorbet.  So I started making my own desserts. I wanted them to taste good though - so my ultimatum was to make delicious desserts that also happen to be dairy-free and egg-free. Every week or so, I challenge myself to try something new.  To recreate some kind of traditional dessert that tastes amazing without using animal products.
